The Lightill Risk Network welcomes the participation and input of Research Councils, globally. With their finger on the pulse of the latest university and government research agendas, Research Councils hold an invaluable insight into who is doing what, where, and for which purpose.

The Lightill Risk Network exists to foster working partnerships between researchers, business and government on topics of risk. By its very nature, ‘risk’ is a diverse, complex and interconnected issue, requiring research expertise from disciplines spanning the physical, theoretical, biological, and social sciences, hand-in-hand with engineering, and economics. Communicating the latest ideas and developments between these arms of the research community, and facilitating knowledge transfer from research into Industry, is a common goal of research councils and the Lightill Risk Network alike.

We welcome the input and experience of Research Councils, and encourage their participation as partners. As a Lightill Risk Network partner, we offer Research Council staff access to our online discussion groups, conferences, and database of topics, the ability to post initiatives and funding opportunities of relevance to the Lightill Risk Network community, and the opportunity to register to participate in (or co-sponsor) our seminars, workshops, study groups and annual conference.

The list of Research Councils working with the Lightill Risk Network to facilitate knowledge transfer of risk-related topics will appear on this page shortly.
