Risk, in all of its potential manifestations, has such a clear footprint on our society and economy that Governments worldwide are home to a wealth of expertise in identifying, managing, and bearing the consequences. Furthermore, Governments sit at the centre of policy-making, R&D strategy and funding, collaboration initiatives and knowledge transfer linked to enterprise and innovation, globally. These two elements combined, reflect a natural link to the Lighthill Risk Network’s objectives.
Input, and participation from experts within Government departments is strongly encouraged, as a means both to inform the network members of arising needs, concerns, initiatives and activities from within Government, and for Government to access the very latest developments, practices, innovation and needs of the scientific, business and third party communities represented by the network.
